Richard Melvin Young

Richard Melvin Young, Forest Ranch, CA, passed away on May 18, 2021 at the age of 88, he was born on May 20,1932 to Melvin and Mabelle Young, Chico CA. Richard was a veteran, serving in the Army, during the Korean War. Richard loved being at the Ocean, he was a member of the Chico Dive Club and Cen cal for a time, known to compete in free dive spear fishing competitions. In keeping with his love for the sea, he was also a commercial fisherman,spending his summers at Albion with his wife Janet. Additional hobbies included gold panning and trips to the desert. Richard was preceded in death by his wife of 61 years Janet and son Rick. He is survived by his son Michael, wife Shirley, sister Carolyn Cody husband Dan, brother n law Bill Pippin , Wife Jean, brother n law Larry Pippin, sister n law Linda Mayer,husband Thomas, Nephews, John(Jack) Mayer, Robbie Pippin, Tom Barnard, Melvin Barnard, Ben Barnard, Jim Barnard, Brian Young, Dean Young, Bud Cody, Scott Cody, Niece's, Debra Stallings, Deanne Johnson and Vicki Le-Compt. Arrangements are under the direction of Brusie Funeral Home.
