Walter Lv Miller

WALTER LV MILLER LV passed away on July 7, 2014 at home surrounded by his daughters. LV was born on June 28, 1924 in Durham, Ca to George W. Miller, and Carrie Miller. He was one of eleven children. He attended school in Durham until his senior year when he left to join the US Navy in 1942. He did sonar and radar work. He was aboard the USS Enterprise, and later transferred to the USS Russell. He left the Navy in October 1945. LV married his wife, Judy Leeds, on March 17, 1943. They were married 64 years. They lived in Durham, Chico, and in 1976 they retired to Orland. He was preceded in death by his wife Judy, and son Jerry. He is survived by his daughters: Peggy Taresh (Don) of Willows, Janice Sumahit and Donna Gunn of Orland. He has 11 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, and 3 great-great grandchildren. LV enjoyed hunting, fishing, gold mining, and camping near Lomo. He also liked to cut firewood in the mountains. He worked in auto upholstery and auto glass for Tex Rutledge, and Greg Miller Auto Upholstery before retiring. Chapel services will be held on Monday July 14, 2014 at 1:00 p.m. at Bruise Funeral Home. lnurnment will be at a later date.
