Wesley Schottman
d. Jan 1, 2001
Wesley P. Schottman passed on at age 61, Sunday, Dec. 5, 2010, in Chico, CA. He spent his final days surrounded by his family and friends.
Wes was born in Oakland, California to Edwin A. Schottman Jr. and Petra J. Schottman. After spending time in Sacramento and Reno, he moved to Chico in 1964, where he has lived ever since. Wes was drafted and served in Vietnam as a military police from 1969 to 1970. He always loved baseball, starting with Little League and playing through high school, after which he went on to coach in various local levels. As a life long San Francisco Giants fan, it meant alot to him to see them finally win the World Series in 2010. Wes was very charismatic, funny and loved coming up with creative nicknames for his family and friends. A true family man, he was a great provider and had a very big heart. He has touched many lives and will be very much missed.
He is survived by his mother, Petra; wife, Alla; children, Jamie Walls and Nikita Schottman; brother, Eldon; sister, Gwen Manz, and other family and close friends.
The Memorial Service for Wes will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, December 10, 2010 at Aldersgate United Methodist Church, 2869 Cohasset Road, Chico, CA.
