Betty Jeane Link, 84, died at Providence Portland Hospital on November 17, 2011 of a massive stroke. She was born in Portland on June 13, 1927 to Jack and Margit (Nelson) Stow. The family moved to the Wildcat area in 1940. She attended Wildcat Grade School and graduated from Molalla Union High School in 1944. She married Elmer Paul Link on November 18, 1949. They lived their entire married life on the family farm in the Wildcat area. Betty was a homemaker and stay-at-home mom. She always had a garden, canning many fruits, jams and vegetables every year. And on the farm there were always cattle to move, cows to milk and hay to haul. She was a founding member of the Wildcat Home Extension Group in the 1950s and continued her membership until her death. She was a member and volunteer of Molalla Adult Community Center, having volunteered countless hours to Meals on Wheels for more than 30 years. She worked at the election voting polls for years before Oregon switched to an all mail ballot. Preceding her in death were her husband, Elmer (2001), and her son Loren (2009). She is survived by her daughter, Judy McNeil (Bob), and her son, Randy Link, both of Molalla; and 7 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren. Memorial Services will be held at Foothills Community Church in Molalla on Friday December 9, 2011 at 11a.m.; luncheon following. Pastor Brian Eberly will officiate. Privet burial will be at Molalla Memorial cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Molalla Adult community Center, Meals on Wheels, or the Oregon State University Extension Services.
