Family is encouraged to provide an obituary or information that allows for an obituary to be written by our staff Cecil, 69, was born in Bakersfield, Calif., to Paul Abraham and Willia Etter (Erwin) Davis. The family moved to the Molalla area in the 1950’s. He helped his father with their berry farm and graduated from Molalla High. Cecil went into the Army in 1965, was sent to Germany then to Vietnam where he served two tours of duty with the 44th Infantry (Scout Dog) Platoon. He worked in lumber mills in Molalla and Alaska for 18 years. The last nine years of his career were spent working as a custodian in Woodburn School District. He enjoyed this work very much as he could interact with the grade school students and the teachers. Cecil’s first marriage to Darlene Stowers ended amicably after 17 years and three children. He was married to Judy Weaver for six years. He met Kathy (Ridings) Smith in 1989 and she finally consented to marry him on May 20, 2000. Cecil enjoyed his Harley-Davidson motorcycle for many years, as well as fishing, camping, and anything “Star Trek”. He collected toy cars and trucks, knives, and guns. He and Kathy began restoring a 1949 Ford and enjoyed going to many car shows, He was proud to have been a volunteer 1st Responder with the Molalla Fire Dept. He was an avid supporter of the Molalla Moose Lodge. Cecil loved his family and friends. He loved to joke around with people and make them laugh; and was always ready and willing to help others. Cecil will be missed and remembered fondly by his children; Pula Gonzalez and Paul Davis, both of Salem and Michelle McCarty of Keiser. Also by; first wife and friend Darlene Stowers of Molalla; Herb Davis of Tishomingo, Okla.; nine grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
