Clara Bonner Woodridge

Clara was born in Long Beach, CA to Grover and Beulah Litchfield. She attended Inglewood High School and El Camino Community College. In 1954 she married Douglas Woodridge and they had one daughter, Susan.

Clara worked for many years at Herbert K. Smith Jewelers in Inglewood before moving to Evanston, IL while Doug attended the Episcopal Seabury-Western Theological Seminary. While there she worked at Northwestern University in the Student Finance Office. After Doug’s graduation, they moved back to the west coast, first to San Diego where Doug served as the Assistant at All Saints Episcopal Church and then to Carlsbad, CA when Doug became the rector for St. Michael’s-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church.

At each parish stop, Clara was always a member of that parish’s altar guild. After Susan graduated from high school, Clara began a 20-year career with Bullock’s & Macy’s Department Stores as the manager of the Dining Circle. Upon retirement Clara and Doug moved to Oregon to be close to their daughter and grandchildren.

Clara was preceded in death by her husband, the Reverend Douglas Woodridge and is survived by her daughter Susan (husband Ron) Salgado of Canby, grandchildren Matthew (wife Kelly) Salgado of Milwaukie, Michael (wife Brittany and daughters Maya & Nora) Salgado of Tualatin and Lauren (husband Troy) Salgado-Frediani of Wilsonville.

Memorial service and interment will be held at 10am, August 29, 2026, at St. Francis of Assisi Episcopal Church in Wilsonville, OR.
