Helen M. Deinema

Helen Madsen Deinema died November 14, 2014 in Canby, Oregon at the age of 90 years. She was born March 20, 1924 in Cedar Falls, Iowa to Nels and Edna Madsen. She was raised in Cedar Falls and graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Home Economics in 1946. Helen married John Deinema in 1947. Her husband John was in the Forest Service, so they moved 35 times and lived in 9 states during their 67 years of marriage. She was a high school teacher; worked as a Home Economist and taught many classes in beading and other crafts. Helen had a great sense of humor and a very creative spirit. Helen is survived by her husband John Deinema, her daughter Bobbi Jo Grimm (Jeff) of Chico, California; her daughter Jacelen Pearson (Bill) of Durham, OR; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by her daughter Deborah Mitchell and her grandson Bret Nicholas Grimm. No formal services are planned at this time.
