Barbara Dixon

Barbara Dixon, 93, of Longmont, died June 19, 2012 at her residence. She was born October 27, 1918 in Ashland, Illinois to James and Francis (Antle) Schuler. She married Clarence Dixon on February 12, 1938 in Blue Ash, Ohio. The couple moved to Longmont in November of 1965. Barbara spent her time raising and enjoying her children. That was her love and her career. She also did a lot of volunteer work and was very active in her church. She loved gardening, quilting, sewing, and most of all spending time with her family. She always knew how to make people laugh. She is survived by her children, Patricia Ballard of Ardmore, Oklahoma, Judith Rawlings of Sanger, California, William (Freda) Dixon of Henderson, Nevada, Robert (Mari) Dixon of Longmont, Duane (Trudy) Lyda of Boulder and her daughter in law Lois Dixon of Arlington, Texas. She is also survived by her two sisters, Marcella Curtis, and Margaret Schneider, both of Milford, Ohio. She has 15 Grandchildren, and 29 Great-Grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and her son James Dixon.Visitation will be held from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 21, 2012 at the Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 22, 2012 at the Longmont Church of Christ.
