Domenic Digiallonardo
May 28, 1925 — Jan 9, 2018
Domenic DiGiallonardo of Longmont went to be with His Lord and Savior after 92 years. He was born to his parents, Louis and Theresa DiGiallonardo in Berwin, CO. He was the oldest son of five: Tony, Rocco, Lewis and Sam and they were raised in Frederick, CO. After high school, Domenic enlisted in the US Navy in 1942 and was a radio operator on the USS LaGrange.
Domenic and Dolores were married on November 6, 1949. They raised their family, Karen, Sharon, Lisa and Ann in Longmont. Domenic worked for the FAA and progressed over 40 years from a controller to a deputy chief. He was called back to work in 1981 and managed the training department of the FAA until 1990.
Domenic and Dolores enjoyed their travels in the US and internationally. Domenic's greatest love was his wife, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren! He was baptized into the Christian faith in 1988 and lived his life as a Godly man. He was incredibly proud of the cabin he built in Allenspark and enjoyed sharing it with family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Dolores, daughters and their husbands: Karen and Jim Ballard, Sharon and Wayne Moddelmog, Lisa and Dante Conti, Ann and Vince Hendrix; grandchildren: Tracy, Courtney, Corey, Stefany, Marco, Rachel, and Dante; great-grandchildren: Ravi, Cian, Eva, Talia, Sage, Emma, Lucy and Ryland.
In lieu of flowers, nothing would please Domenic more than donations to a special fund set up for Lucy Funk, Domenic's great-granddaughter. Lucy was born with microcephaly.
