Eugene Petersen

Eugene D. Petersen, 81, died at Regional West Hospital in Scottsbluff, Nebraska on Wednesday, February 24th, 2016 due to stroke complications. The son of Carsten and Ruth (Hawkins) Petersen, he was born and raised on the family farm in Tilden, Nebraska. In 1954, Eugene married his high school sweetheart and after having four daughters the family moved to Longmont, Colorado in 1959. After a divorce in 1973, Eugene lived in Berthoud, Colorado until 2001 when he moved and retired to Kimball, Nebraska. After completing high school, Eugene continued his education at an auto body trade school and co-owned an auto body and paint shop. After moving to Colorado he pursued cabinet making and became co-owner of Alroy Kitchen Cabinets. Fishing and camping were Eugene’s fondest past times and enjoyment. Eugene is survived by his daughters Victoria Jacobson, Cheryl Petersen, Diane Seville, and Debra (Donald) Cumpsten along with 8 grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren. He is further survived by his sister Darlene (Robert) Croy and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother Ron Petersen and sister Norma (Donald) Huelle. Cremation has been conducted and a private family Graveside Memorial will be held at Foothills Gardens of Memory, Longmont, CO, at a later date. Service Information A service summary is not available
