Frederick Davis

Fred L. Davis, 89, of Longmont passed away Friday, December 30, 2011 at Longmont United Hospital. He was born in St. Louis, Missouri on January 6, 1922 to Fred C. and Eugenia H. Davis. On May 10, 1947 he married Jean Lea Chaney in St. Louis. Fred graduated from Maplewood-Richmond Heights High School in 1941 and Washington University in 1946. He graduated from college with a degree in Electrical Engineering and spent his entire career as an engineer for the General Electric Corporation. Upon retiring in 1980, Fred and Jean moved to Longmont, where he lived for the past 31 years. He loved spending time at his cabin in Meeker Park and enjoyed climbing Longs Peak numerous times. Fred was preceded in death by his parents, his only brother, a nephew and Jean, his wife of 56 years. He is survived by a sister-in-law, three nieces, a nephew & their families, as well as, many friends and loving caregivers. A funeral service will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday, January 6th at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel. Interment Foothills Gardens of Memory.
