John Silverio Martinez

John S Martinez, 91 of Longmont CO went home to our heavenly father on 07/20/2026. He was born on January 26th, 1935, to Fermin and Amelia Martinez, in El Rito CO. He graduated from Pueblo County High School in 1955. On August 9th, 1958, he married Teresa Atler in Vineland, Colorado and they were married for 61 years. Together they had three children. John Jr, Geraldine, and Walter Martinez.

He worked at Wonder Bread in Colorado Springs, CO as a mechanic, owned and operated the Mead Inn Bar in Mead CO from 1973-1977, Longmont foods in Maintenance & as a janitor at the Twin Peaks Mall.

John loved spending time with his wife, kids, grandkids, and great grandkids. John enjoyed going to Casinos or hanging at the Longmont Bingo Alley! He had a silly sense of humor loved making people laugh. He had a big heart and showed great love to his furry animals. His chihuahua Ben and miniature pincher Coco were extremely spoiled.

He is preceded in death by his parent’s Fermin and Amelia, wife Teresa, his two sons John Martinez Jr. and Walter Martinez, his grandson Anthony Ray Martinez, his miniature pincher Coco, and numerous extended family members.

John is survived by daughter Geraldine Martinez (Jim Torrez) and daughter in-law Shelley Martinez. Siblings Floyd, Berlinda, Edna, Mildred, and Minnie Kay. Grandchildren Michelle Chavez (Jesus), Jennifer Martinez, Reuben Martinez residing in Longmont, CO and Krystal Martinez (Issac Garcia) of Greeley. Greatgrandchildren Jordan Martinez Vasquez (Serenity), Isabel, Julian, Cristian, Anthony, Aaliyah, Alexis, Tennessa, Isaac Jr, and Elias. Great-great granddaughter Angelina. Lastly, his chihuahua Ben.

A Funeral Service will be held on Thursday, July 30, 2026, at 11:30 a.m. at Iglesia Bautista Emmanuel Church-1601 Collyer St, Longmont, 80501, with burial to follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont, CO. In lieu of flowers, please bring a covered dish to the Moose Lodge after the burial.
