Joseph Moses Munoz

Oct 5, 1947 — May 28, 2013

Joseph Moses Munoz died peacefully May 28th, 2013 in his sleep at his home after struggling with a long illness. Moses was born October 5th, 1947 and graduated from Longmont High School prior to serving in Vietnam for the US Army. After he completed his stint in the Army he worked various jobs in Colorado, Wyoming and Montana before accepting a position as a Courier for Ball Aerospace in Boulder, Colorado where worked for 18 years. Moses was a remarkable man who could walk into a room and light it up with his smile. He never met a stranger and anyone who met him once, never forgot who he was and what he stood for. Whether it was a short trip to the mountains or a trip across country, his love of travel took him and his loving wife, Julie, on many adventures. While on these adventures he developed a love for his Native American heritage and their art. He developed a unique talent for making beautiful Native American jewelry. He created many of the jewelry pieces he wore which included various stones, with his favorite being Gaspeite Turquoise. He had a flair for many styles, but preferred his boots and signature cowboy hat! Moses was a very handsome and loving soul. His love of family was a key part of his life, and the time that he and Julie spent with nieces and nephews was a precious part of that. He was a man with a big heart and great deal of love to give. Moses was a very sensible person and did not wish to have a fuss made over him. He had his own special way of making each and everyone feel a warm bond of love and affection, you knew he saw the real you and he made sure that you knew it! Moses was preceded in death by his parents Manuel and Della Munoz and his infant sister Della. Moses is survived by his loving wife Julie, his Daughter Wendi Muñoz and his son Billie Munoz. His three brothers; Jose Robert Muñoz and his wife Oleader of Las Vegas, NV. Felipe Muñoz and Manuel 'JR' Munoz. His four sisters; Lydia Muñoz, Zenaida Delgado and her husband Vicenté, Yolanda Ortuño and her husband Jaime and Zenovia Rodriguez all of Longmont. He is also survived by his nephews and nieces; Jeremy and Adrian, Munoz of California, Gabriel, Krista and Yvette Munoz, Emilio Delgado, Yasmine and Lettie Ortuño and Mariah, Aimee and Andrew Rodriguez also of Longmont.
