Kirk Young
Jun 8, 1959 — May 5, 2017
Kirk Young, son of Mary Frances Young, was born in Los Angeles, California 1959. Kirk was the third child of seven children. He is survived by his brothers Donald, Robert, Greg, and his sister Toya Young.
He attended and graduated Antelope Valley High School, class of 1977. During his years in high school he developed artistic creativity inspired by his love for comic books. Although it was unknown to people, Kirk was a very talented graphic artist. He enjoyed spending time with his family, watching classic movies, attending bbq's and spending time with family and friends. He loved the companionship of his nieces, Tasha Jenkins and Cassandra Gonzalez, and most of all his nephew Prince Whiting.
Kirk shared several commonalities with his favorite comic book hero, Superman. For instance Kirk was proved to be indestructible after being hit by a train and surviving with only a broken leg and shoulder. Also falling from a two story building, while working on a roof. He got up and returned to work.
Kirk will be deeply missed by all those who loved him. Kirk is now resting in peace with his mother Mary Frances, his sister Frances and brother Randy Young. A celebration of life will be held 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral Chapel.
The Broken Chain
We little knew that day,
God was going to call your name.
In life we loved you dearly,
In death, we do the same.
It broke our hearts to lose you.
You did not go alone.
For part of us went with you,
The day God called you home.
You left us beautiful memories,
Your love is still our guide.
And although we cannot see you,
You are always at our side.
Our family chain is broken,
And nothing seems the same,
But as God calls us one by one,
The chain will link again.
