Lupe Marie Jaquez

LUPE M. JAQUEZ, 81, of Firestone, died August 26, 2017 at Boulder Community Hospital, in the Tru Community Care Hospice in Boulder, Colorado. Lupe was born on January 13, 1936. She was primarily raised by her grandparents and graduated from Frederick High school in 1954. After high-school she worked briefly as a data key punch operator for a publishing house located in Boulder, CO. She married Roger Jaquez on April 11, 1964 and due to Roger’s 21-year career with the Air Force the family relocated to Charlestown, South Carolina and Clovis, New Mexico. While in Charlestown, Lupe gave birth to her only child, Shawn Jaquez. In 1974, Lupe returned to the tri-town area and was a dedicated parishioner at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Frederick, CO volunteering for a variety of positions. Lupe was a community fixture due to her work at the Valley Bank and Trust in Frederick, Colorado. She found achievement and satisfaction in her teller and bookkeeping positions due to being bi-lingual, having a friendly personality plus having an affinity for numbers. Lupe retired after 40 years of service with the bank in February 2016 and held the community and co-workers very near to her heart throughout her life, it was her cornerstone. Survivors are her son Shawn Jaquez and wife Pamela of Aurora; two grandchildren, Gunnar L. and Kendall R. Jaquez, her Vidaurri brothers: Gilbert, Angelo, Andrew and Cleto and several nieces and nephews. Recitation of the Rosary will be at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, August 31, 2017 followed by a Mass of Christian Burial on Friday, September 1, 2017 at 10:00 a.m., both at St. Theresa's Catholic Church in Frederick, CO.
