Marilyn Hilma Tobin
Dec 29, 1930 — Oct 9, 2026
Marilyn Harju Tobin, age 95, passed away on October 9, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, warmth, and a life beautifully lived.
Marilyn was born on December 29, 1930, in Minneapolis, Minnesota, to Arvid and Hilma Harju. She grew up in a large and lively family alongside her brothers Russell, William “Bill,” David, Peter, and John, and her sisters Barbara, Ardythe, Greta, and Bernadette. The bonds she formed with her siblings stayed with her throughout her life.
On December 8, 1956, Marilyn married Robert Manford Tobin in Bonneville, Idaho. Together they built a loving home and raised three children: Robert Jr.(deceased), Ty, and Terisa. Marilyn created a wonderful home for her family, one full of life and love, and her children and grandchildren were her greatest joy.
For many years, Marilyn worked for Royal Neighbors of America Insurance, where she brought the same care and dedication to her work that she gave to everything she did. She also owned and operated her own pilot car business, safely guiding oversized trucks through the Rocky Mountains and beyond.
Marilyn is survived by her son Ty Tobin (Sandy) and her daughter Terisa Tobin (Glenn); her five grandchildren, Avelyn, Brady, Corby, Jada, and Caden; and her siblings. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Robert, her oldest son, Rob, and brothers Peter and Russell. We take comfort knowing they are together again.
Marilyn will be greatly missed by all who knew her. Her family finds peace in knowing she lived a life well lived, one filled with love, laughter, and the people she cherished most.
