Mary Adella Romero
d. May 2, 2026
With both grief and hearts of gratitude, we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Mary Adella Romero, who entered into eternity at the age of 83 on May 2, 2026, in Berthoud, Colorado. She was born on July 17, 1942, in Crowell, Texas, to Juan and Apolonia (Perez) Castillo.
A woman of resilience, Mary dedicated over 20 years to Longmont Foods, serving as a poultry processor on the production line. This demanding labor required great physical strength and stamina, and her family will always remember the perseverance she displayed both at work and at home, as well as the love and grace she extended to everyone.
Beyond her occupation, Mary was defined by her steadfast faith. She was a dedicated member of the Loveland Bilingual Christian Center, where she ministered alongside the women’s group to raise funds, often lending her hands and heart to the kitchen for various community events. Even in adversity, Mary remained unshakeable in her devotion to God; she was a constant source of prayer and encouragement for anyone facing hardship.
Her gift of hospitality touched everyone she met, from her sons’ friends to her extended family. Mary loved to share a meal and was always ready to offer food and fellowship to anyone who knocked on her door. Family members will fondly remember helping her make tamales and listening to stories of her youth; we can still picture her bright smile and hear her joyful laughter. Her prayers, her kitchen, and her welcoming spirit will be deeply missed.
Mary was preceded in death by her parents, Juan and Apolonia Castillo; her sisters, Ruth Castillo, Elizabeth Morales, Juana Briones, and Francis Lopez; and her brothers, Moses Castillo and Inez Liges.
She is survived by her sons, Nathan Romero, and Miguel Romero and his wife, Adriana Gonzalez; her grandchildren, Allison and Nolan; and her sister, Eva Castillo. She also leaves behind many loving nieces, nephews, and dear friends who will carry her memory in their hearts.
