Nyla Mcelroy

Tribute Nyla McElroy December 10, 1936 - April 30, 2018 Nyla Jean McElroy passed away April 30, 2018 in Longmont after a long illness. She was born on December 10, 1936 to Charles Truman and Laurine Isabel Stage Vest and grew up in Pueblo, CO. In 1958 she graduated with a degree in elementary education from Rockmont College in Longmont. It was while in college that she met her future husband, Neal. Nyla began her teaching career at a small country school near Longmont and retired from Niwot Elementary. Entertaining, cooking, reading and music were among her hobbies. The Longmont Symphony Orchestra concerts brought her great joy. She was deeply committed to her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. As a member of Grace Church she taught Sunday School and was involved in many of the women’s ministries. Survivors include her daughter Lisa (Chris) Bertrand, Loma, CO, son David (Dayna) Lee, in CA, brother, Don (Rose) Vest of Pueblo, CO and seven grandchildren. No service planned at this time. The family suggests memorial donations to either Grace Church, 2415 Lake Park Drive, Longmont 80503 or Beatrice Hover Assisted Living Residence, 1380 Charles Drive, Longmont 80503.
