Stephen Edward Fairley, born January 29, 1966, in Boston, Massachusetts, passed away on April 20, 2026. He was the son of Walter G. Fairley and Anita Dolores Fairley (Saunders) and had two daughters, Kensington Anita and Kerrigan Jean, as well as an older sister, Cheryl Alexander and brother-in-law Eddie Alexander. Stephen grew up in Cambridge and Randolph, attended Randolph High School (class of 1984), and earned a bachelor’s degree in business from Johnson & Wales University in Providence, Rhode Island in 1988.

He moved to Colorado in 1992, briefly working as a caretaker. Once settled, he made a career in sales at Leanin’ Tree Greeting Card company and Sun’s Out Puzzle company He lived in Boulder, Longmont, and later settled in Denver.

Stephen was passionate about animals and demonstrated generosity toward others, assisting those in need even when his own resources were limited. Among his most fulfilling experiences was serving as a counselor at Grotonwood Summer Camp in Central Massachusetts. The relationships he developed during his time there became enduring friendships that lasted throughout his life.

He leaves to mourn his mother Anita Dolores Fairley and father Walter Gene Fairley of Randolph MA; daughters Kensington Anita Fairley and Kerrigan Jean Fairley and their mother Tami Caraballo of Johnstown, CO; sister Cheryl Alexander and brother-in-law Eddie Alexander of New Haven, CT. He also leaves to mourn his cousins Stephen Alford (Boston, MA), Bryan Alford (Framingham, MA); James Pearson (Bridgewater. MA). In addition, he leaves to mourn a host of cousins, aunts, uncles and dear friends.

Stephen was predeceased by his maternal grandmother, Anita E. Saunders (Cambridge, MA) and his paternal grandmother Estella Murphy (Boston, MA)

He is remembered with great respect and admiration by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial gifts be made to the Humane Society of Boulder Valley.

A celebration of life honoring Stephen will be held on May 15, 2026, from 6:00 PkaM to 7:00 PM at Carroll-Lewellen Funeral & Cremation Services, located at 503 Terry Street in Longmont, Colorado, 80501, United States. This gathering will provide an opportunity for friends and those touched by Stephen’s life to come together and share memories of his enduring spirit.
