Steven E Bagley
Oct 3, 1947 — Aug 28, 2026
On Friday, August 28, 2026, our beloved father, grandfather, and friend, Steven Eugene Bagley, aged 78, of Berthoud, Colorado passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family.
Born on October 3, 1947, in Rock Springs, Wyoming, to Thayne L. Bagley and Eugenia Eschler Bagley, Steve lived a life defined by kindness, service, hard work, devotion to his family, and a steadfast testimony of the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
After serving a full-time mission in Brazil, Steve married his sweetheart, Ruth Ann James, in the Salt Lake City Temple on August 12, 1970.
For 56 years, they walked hand-in-hand, building a home filled with his patience and love.
After graduating from Washington School of Dental Medicine in 1975, he and his sweetheart made their home in Greeley, Colorado.
A faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, Steve centered his life around the teachings of Jesus Christ. He found great joy in serving in various callings, including as a high councilor, home teacher, diligent Bishop, counselor in the Stake Presidency, Seminary teacher, and Sunday School Teacher.
To his children and grandchildren, he was a living example of integrity and Christ-like love.
He never missed an opportunity to bake a lemon meringue pie, share a favorite conference talk, or offer a gentle piece of advice. He taught his five children Brian James Bagley (Luz Maria), Michael Jon Bagley, Alisha Danielle Andersen (David), Adam Christopher Bagley (Rachel), and Andrew Joshua Bagley how to work hard and how to faithfully endure to the end.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Lurene Toone, and a granddaughter, Grace Lucille Bagley. He is survived by his wife Ruth Ann; his brother Garth (Stephanie); his five children; 17 cherished grandchildren (Danielle Bagley, Jordan Bagley, Adam “Augie” Bagley, Michael “Mikey” Bagley, Steven “Genito” Bagley, Carson Bagley, Anna Bagley, Drew Bagley, Jacob Andersen, Hannah Andersen, Maxwell “Max” Andersen, Kinsley Bagley, Landon Bagley, Jackson Bagley, Madilyn Bagley, Abigail Bagley, and Olivia Bagley; many nieces and nephews and cherished friends.
Though our hearts ache with his passing, we rejoice in knowing that families are forever and that he is now joyfully reunited with many loved ones on the other side of the veil.
