Alec Gage Lawson

Alec Gage Lawson, age 18, of Surgoinsville, found his peace on Sunday, November 21, 2021. Alec loved animals and greatly enjoyed gaming. He was a Senior of Volunteer High School and was a proud member of the JROTC, having participated all 4 years of his time at Volunteer. He was known for his loving and kind heart, selfless spirit and infectious and sweet smile. Most of all he was a loving son, grandson and brother and will be greatly missed by his family. He was preceded in death by his maternal great-grandmother, Mary Dykes; paternal great-grandmother, Bernice Burton. He is survived by his mother, Julie Dykes; father, Micah Lawson (Heather Locke and her children, Hayden Ward, Hanna Ward and Aubree Locke); 2 brothers, Kip Williams (Bridgett) and Gavin Lawson; maternal grandmother, Susan Greer; paternal grandparents, Darrell and Lisa Lawson; paternal grandmother, Sharon Berry; niece, Julianna Williams; nephew, Jasper Williams; several uncles, aunts and a host of extended family and friends. The family will receive friends from 2:00 pm – 5:00 pm on Saturday, November 27, 2021 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will begin at 5:00 pm in the chapel with Minister Darrell Lawson, Pastor David Powers officiating and a special presentation by Volunteer High School JROTC. A graveside service will be held at 2:00 pm on Sunday at Christians Bend Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Volunteer High School JROTC at ATTN: JROTC PROGRAM, 1050 Volunteer St. Church Hill, TN 37642.
