Alice Cox Bishop

Alice Cox Bishop, 89, of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on September 18, 2026, at The Blake Assisted Living in Kingsport. She lived all her life in Kingsport and was a graduate of Holston High School. Alice dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age and was a long-standing member of West Colonial Hills Baptist Church. She retired from the Colonial Heights Pharmacy where she worked as a Pharmacy Technician for many years. She was well known and loved by many in the community. Alice loved her friends and family and was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend.

Alice always put God first in her life and shared his message often. She also shared an unconditional love for her family, especially her granddaughter Grace Ann, who she spent many unforgettable years with. As a mother, her love and unbreakable bond with her son (Larry Jr.) will be cherished for eternity.

Alice was preceded in death by her parents, Perry and Edith Cox; her husband, Larry Bishop Sr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Kay and James Speck; her brother and sister-in-law, Tom and Vickie Cox; her nephew, Wayne Cox and special grandnephew Joseph Cox.

She is survived by her son, Larry Bishop Jr.; daughter-in-law Kim; special granddaughter, Grace Ann; and sister, Sylvia Ferguson, and husband Russell; as well as a host of nephews and nieces.

The family will receive friends from 12:00 – 1:00 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2026, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Kingsport. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Paul Schaffer officiating. Burial will follow at Hamlett-Dobson Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Larry Bishop, Michael Painter, Mark Painter, Kevin Speck, Alan Cox and Randall Cox.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's charity of your choice and/or West Colonial Hills Baptist Church.
