Beverly Ballard Thacker
Nov 30, 1949 — Jul 31, 2026
Beverly went home to be with her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ Friday morning, July 31, 2026.
She was born on Nov. 30, 1949, in Hendersonville, North Carolina to Grady and Hazel Ballard.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Grady and Hazel Ballard.
Survivors include her husband of 40 plus years, Denver Thacker. They were married on March 21, 1986; brother, Jerry Ballard (Vickey) and Martin Ballard (Jo Anne) of Hendersonville, North Carolina; many nieces and nephews whom she dearly loved.
She graduated from East Hendersonville High School in 1968 and attended Bob Jones University and graduated in 1974 and came to Tennessee to teach at Kingsport Christian School. Beverly and several school administrators started Heritage Christian School in Church Hill in 1977, where she taught kindergarten. She worked there until the early nineties when she had to retire because of health issues. She continued to tutor children at her home. Her passion and greatest desires were to teach children how to read so they could read God's Holy Word and learn of His love so they could accept Jesus Christ as their own personal Savior.

Burial will follow at Morning Star Cemetery with Robert Moore, Dakota Goins, Bobby Napier, Brian Derrick, Ryan Houseright, and Jeffrey Moore serving as pallbearers.
