Darlene Ann Cross
Apr 3, 1947 — Dec 26, 2018
On Wednesday, December 26, 2018, Darlene Ann (Black) Cross, of Church Hill, eased into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long and courageous battle with cancer. She met Jesus as a young girl and enjoyed his presence for the rest of her seventy-one years. Finally she has seen him face to face. Those of us who have been honored to know her feel a great loss.
Her husband, Roger L. Cross, dearly misses her love and friendship. They have walked so many miles together in their forty-seven years of marriage. God gifted them with three children, David Cross (Julie), Rodger Lee Cross (April), and Rhonda Lee Helverson (Chris) and God favored them with seven grandchildren.
Darlene was the only child of Reverend George S. Black and Evelyn Marie (Laird) Black who preceded her in meeting Jesus.
Darlene was a gifted pianist, Sunday school teacher, children's worker, seminar speaker, mentor and friend to all. She would have loved to introduce you to her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Death is certain, but you have a choice about eternity. Please choose Jesus and Life!
Join us at Higher Ground Baptist Church, Saturday, December 29, 2018 at 4:00pm for a celebration of Darlene's life and legacy. You may greet the family from 2pm until the service starts.
In lieu of flowers please honor Darlene by making a donation to Higher Ground Baptist Church to support their missions outreach.
Interment will be private for the family members.
