David Clyde Millsap

David C. Millsap, age 70, born October 15, 1947, went to be with the Lord on September 24, 2018 following a short illness. He was surrounded by his devoted family whom he loved dearly. David was preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Mary “Edna” Millsap; brothers, Tommy and Benny Millsap. David is survived by LoRita, his loving wife of 50 years. She was his high school sweetheart, his constant companion and love. He is also survived by his son, Tad Millsap; daughter Jamie Millsap Falin (Jason); granddaughter, Raven Millsap; grandson, Kai Flanary; brother, Rick Millsap; sister, Shirley Wingfield (Bud); sister, Jill Pugh (Mark) as well as many nieces, nephews and many other close family members. David was a good husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, uncle, and friend to so many. David, an Air Force Security Policeman, served for two deployments in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged for his service. He retired from Eastman Chemical Company and was currently employed by B.A.E. Systems. David enjoyed life’s simple pleasures like his coffee. He was an avid fisherman, a talented carpenter and was always planning the next project to work on, create, or build. He was currently working on rebuilding his 1966 Ford Mustang Fastback. Behind the scenes, David did so much good for so many people. He made a positive lasting impact on every person he came into contact with and will be remembered for his kindness. In the end, David found that Jesus Christ was his true source of strength and pleaded for those closest to him to make time for each other and their families. David was cremated at his request. A celebration of life will be scheduled at a later date. In David’s honor, donations can be made to Disabled Veterans and/or Shades of Grace Ministry in downtown Kingsport. The family wishes to thank the Mountain Home VA doctors, nurses and staff for their care and friendship during his last moments upon this earth.
