"Gigi" Alice Dean (Manis) Perry

Great Grandma “Gigi” Alice Dean (Manis) Perry went home to be with her Lord on Thursday, January 23, 2025 after a long fight with cancer. She was born in Surgoinsville, TN, on February 21, 1947.  Filled with love and compassion, she never met a stranger.  Anyone who visited her home left with a newfound friend, a belly full of home cooking, and enough leftovers for another meal.  Dean loved to tend to her plants, cook and can with her three beloved sisters, and play with her dachshund, Gibbs. She doted over her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Dean often traveled with her sisters, collectively known as the Grandma Pack. They could regularly be found laughing with each other.  

 Dean was preceded in death by her parents, B. H. and Charmie (Adams) Manis; husband, Sheridan Paul Perry; twin sister, Shirley Jean Lane; youngest sister, Nellie Sue Christian; and grandson-in-law Marine 1st Lt. Matthew Davis (Elizabeth and Aubrey).  

Dean is survived by her sister, Linda Riner (Larry); daughter, Teresa Perry Grow (Charles); three sons, Keith Perry (Misty), Hubert Perry and Tim Perry; grandchildren, Elizabeth (Grow) Davis (John Lewis), Charles Paul Grow (Jeanelle) and Jessica Perry (Thomas Greenwell); great-grandchildren, Aubrey Jones and Chuck Lewis; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.   

We extend a special thank you to the nurses and staff at Wexford House, especially Tim, Ben, and Stella. They helped to keep Dean comfortable during her final weeks, as did the Amedisys Hospice team.   

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 2pm on Sunday, January 26, 2025 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Jeremiah Riner and Pastor Aaron Edens officiating. 

A graveside service will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens with her family serving as pallbearers.
