Jerry Wayne Murray
Feb 20, 1943 — Jun 27, 2026
Jerry Wayne Murray, 83, of Mt. Carmel, went home to be with the Lord and the love of his life on Saturday, June 27, 2026, in his home.
Jerry was born in Samburg, Tennessee, to the late Marjorie Nettles Murray and Almous Murray. While he wore many titles throughout his life, the ones he treasured most were husband, Dad, & PeePaw. His life wasn't measured by accomplishments or possessions, but by the family he loved so fiercely and the quiet, steady way he showed up for the people who mattered most.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Sandra Pauline Murray. Married for 61 wonderful years, they shared a love that many spend a lifetime hoping to find. They grew up together, built a family together, and stood beside one another through every joy and every hardship. Their love was constant, unwavering, and the foundation of everything they built. While our hearts ache in his absence, there's comfort in knowing they are together again— the way they were always meant to be.
Jerry leaves behind a family who will carry his love with them every day: his sons, Robert Murray, Paul (Delana) Murray, and Aaron (Paula) Murray; his sister, Doris Murray George; his grandchildren, Lauren (Michael) Murray Montgomery, Paige (Jared) Murray Evans, Michael (Alicia) Murray, and Emily Horton; and his four precious great-grandchildren, Mason, Whitley, Winston, and Hallie.
Though we will miss his presence more than words can express, we are grateful for every memory, every lesson, every laugh, and every moment we were blessed to share with him. His legacy lives on in the family he loved so deeply, and we find peace knowing he is finally home, reunited with Sandra and resting in the presence of the Lord.
In keeping with Jerry's wishes, no formal services will be held.
