Kenneth Otto Arnold, 88, of Mount Carmel, TN, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at his home with his family by his side. Born on April 15, 1938, in Surgoinsville, TN to Otto “Toby” and Della Lee Arnold. He was married to his wife, Ruby Haynes Arnold, for 60 years. For most of their life, they resided in Church Hill where they raised their children, Scott and Teresa. He served his country proudly in the US Army and National Guard for a total of 17 years. He retired from the Kingsport Press after working for more than 30 years. He was a very kind man who befriended all he met. He was a hard worker and took pride in caring for his family and home. He enjoyed working in his yard and was best known for his blue coveralls.

He is survived by his wife Ruby Haynes Arnold; daughter, Teresa Phelps and fiancé Keith Dugger, who Ken thought the world of; brother, Charles Arnold and wife Lillian; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Otto “Toby” and Della Lee Arnold; loving son, Scott Arnold; 2 brothers, James and Reed Arnold; 2 sisters, Dorthy Sandige and Norma Allen.

Visitation will be conducted on Thursday, August 6, 2026, at Carter Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill, TN from 5:00pm-7:00pm. Funeral service will be at 7:00pm with Pastor Tommy Haynes officiating. Burial will be Friday, August 7, 2026 at 11:00am at Church Hill Memorial Gardens. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:45am.

Pallbearers include: Dwayne Arnold, Jeffery Arnold, Tony Arnold, Randy Arnold, Larry Smith, and Willis Daughtery.

Honorary Pallbearers include: Larry Allen, Mike Allen, and Charles Arnold
