Lela Joan “Jo Ann” Hall, age 80, of Kingsport, passed away on Wednesday, September 26, 2018 at Holston Manor Nursing Facility in Kingsport. She was born in St. Charles, VA and had resided in Kingsport since 1960 when she went to work for the Kingsport Press where she met her late former husband, William H. “Bill” Cooper. Joan was a homemaker, wife, daughter,mother, grandmother and aunt. She was of the Baptist faith and a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
In addition to her former husband, she was preceded in death by her parents, Odas and Nellie Griffin Hall; sister, Orpha Jean Jones; brothers, Gillis and Jimmy Hall,
She is survived by her loving children, Vicki Trammell (Tiger), Donna Cooper (Bradley) both of Kingsport, Micki Wells of Inman, SC, and Bill Cooper of Washington D.C.; grandchildren, Major Nick C. Cooper, USAF Korea, Tayler Thompson and Cheyenne Guy (Spike) both of Kingsport, Sadie Trammell of Los Angeles, CA, and Trey Trammell of Johnson City; 2 great-grandsons; sisters, Peggy Harber of Kingsport, Eve Luetje of Ventura, CA, and Anita Reasor (Buddy) of Noblesville, IN, and Audrey Stapleton of Panama City Beach, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 4:00 pm - 6:00 pm on Thursday, October 4, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. A memorial service will begin at 6:00 pm.
