Marie Gilbert Stinson

Kingsport – Marie Gilbert Stinson, 91 of Kingsport, went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 20, 2019 following a brief illness. She was of the Baptist faith. Marie loved her family and was always proud to speak of them any chance she had. Marie was a wonderful friend and enjoyed going to flea markets. She will be greatly missed. She was preceded in death by her husband, Calvin Stinson; her son, Roger Stinson; 5 brothers and 4 sisters. Marie is survived by her son, Jerry Stinson and wife Romilda; daughter, Teresa Greene and husband Jerry; grandchildren, Jason Stinson, Jimmy Stinson and wife Charlotte, Jeremy Greene and wife Kassie, Jody Peters and husband Don; 5 great-grandchildren; sisters, Elizabeth Stiles and Virginia Powell; several nieces and nephews; a very special friend, Mildred McDavid. The family will receive friends from 12 – 2 p.m. Saturday, August 24, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill. A funeral service will follow at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Kester Bunch officiating. Burial will follow in Liberty Hill Cemetery.
