Myrna J. O'Dell

Kingsport - Myrna J. O’Dell, age 84 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on December 13, 2023 at Holston Valley Medical Center with her family by her side. Myrna was born on April 12,1939 in Buchanan, VA to the late Luther and Beulah Stinnett. She dedicated her life to caring for her family, embodying the roles of a loving wife, mom, and mamaw. Myrna had a deep love for arts, crafts, and making flower arrangements, her creativity knew no bounds. She was preceded in death by her husband James Malcolm O’Dell, brothers, Luther Stinnett and Robert Stinnett; sister, Anna Hess. Myrna is survived by her son, James “Mack” O’Dell; granddaughters, Lindsea Graham (Tyler) and Veronica Thomas (Preston); sisters-in-law, Betty Stinnett and Joyce Stinnett, and several nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, December 16, 2023, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill with Brother Ron Grimes officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Girls Inc. of Kingsport. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, Church Hill is serving the O’Dell family.
