Phyllis Louise Austin

Phyllis B. Austin Phyllis Louise Barrett Austin, 89, of Church Hill passed away on Wednesday, May 20th at Holston Valley Medical Center. Phyllis graduated from Church Hill High School. She worked as an LPN in the Recovery Room of Holston Valley Medical Center for more than 20 years. She had been a member of First Baptist Church of Church Hill since October 1949. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband, Howard E. Austin; daughter, Sharon Kay Austin; parents, Joseph E. and Mary G. Barrett, and brothers, Joe, Robert, and George. Phyllis is survived by her daughter, Jo Ann Cox (Patrick Sr.); son, Michael H. Austin (Tina); grandson, Patrick B. Cox, Jr. (Daysie); granddaughters, Elizabeth A. Cox and Ali McGlothlin (Lance); great-grandson, Maverick McGlothlin; several nieces and nephews; special friend and neighbor, Peggy Moore. Per her wishes, she will be cremated. There will be a small graveside service followed by burial at Liberty Hill Cemetery in Mt. Carmel at 11 am on Friday, May 29, 2020 with Rev. Mitch Russell officiating. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery at 10:45 am. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 847, Church Hill, TN 37642.
