Robert Dale Mullins
Aug 29, 1949 — Jan 22, 2020
Robert Dale “Moon” Mullins 70, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, January 22, 2020 at Holston Valley Medical Center. Robert worked for Eastman Chemical Company and retired after 35 years of service. He was an avid outdoorsman and especially enjoyed coon hunting as well as watching Westerns. Following an accident in 2003 involving a drunk driver he became a paraplegic. Even after his accident he would still smile that big smile and tell everyone how good the Lord had been to him. He was such an inspiration to anyone who came in contact with him. Robert was a loving father, grandfather, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him. He will be remembered most for his laugh and that beautiful smile.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Deborah Ann Mullins; son, Jason Mullins; brothers, Tommy Lynn Mullins and Gary Mullins.
Survivors include his daughter and caregiver, Robin Mullins; granddaughters, Whitney Christian, Amanda Johnson and husband Brandon, and Sunnie “Grayson” Mullins; great- granddaughters, Breanna and Hannah; great- grandson, Christian; brother, David Mullins; sister, Sharon Thacker; special friends and caregivers, Myron Williams and Wanda Sutton.
The family will receive friends from 2pm to 3pm on Sunday, January 26, 2020 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. A funeral service will follow with Pastor Rick Dinkins officiating.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff of Avalon Hospice for their loving care.
