Rose Etta (Crawley) Derrick, age 90, of Surgoinsville, went home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, December 20, 2023, at NHC of Kingsport. She was a member of Midway Covenant Brethren Church. She was the matriarch of her family and was happiest when her family and friends would gather in her home for a meal or fellowship. Rose was so loved by her grandchildren who were the pride and joy of her life. Rose was a loving wife, mother, grandma, great-grandma, sister and friend to all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her husband, Gene Derrick; son, Henry Derrick; brother, James Crawley; and sister, Jo Derrick. She is survived by her 3 loving daughters, Ann Rogers (Glen), Janice Barrett (Clinton) and Becky Burchfield (Tony); 6 grandchildren, Clay Barrett, Lori Adams, Brad Rogers (Lauren), Landon Rogers (Amber), Amanda McQueen (Matt) and Kayla Rogers; 13 great-grandchildren; sisters, Joyce Purinton and Faye Collins; brothers, Andy Crawley and Larry Crawley; special niece, Judy Carter; several other nieces and nephews. There will be a Funeral Service held for Rose at 1:00 pm on Friday, December 22, 2023, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill with Pastor Rick Meade officiating. Friends and family may gather at 12:00 pm to greet the family. Graveside services will be held privately by the immediate family at a later time. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Miway Covenant Brethren Church. Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.cartertrent.com.
