Venice Mae Collingsworth

Venice Collingsworth, age 88 of Kingsport, born August 26, 1930, passed away on Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at Wexford House after a long battle with Parkinson Disease. She was preceded in death by her parents, Clyde and Eva Parker; fathers of her children, Ralph Greear and Lloyd Collingsworth. She is survived by her children, Beverly Byrd (Garry), Kathi Williams (Stan), and Mark Collingsworth; grandchildren, Greg Salyer (Carol), Michele Fleenor, Brett Byrd, Cameron Byrd (Mandy), Jared Byrd (Sarah), Brad Byrd (Amy) and Ashley Lewis (Jordan); 19 great-grandchildren and 5 great great-grandchildren. The family will receive friends from 12:00 pm – 2:00 pm on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in downtown Kingsport. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 pm with Pastor Mike Malone and Pastor Jeff Lewis officiating. Graveside services will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, March 25, 2019 at Oak Hill Memorial Park. All those wishing to go in procession are asked to meet at the funeral home at 12:00 pm. Grandsons will be serving as pallbearers.
