Anna Louise Russell

Anna Louise Russell, 87, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at the Village at Allendale, Kingsport. Mrs. Russell was a member of State Line Baptist Church and also a member of Eastern Star. She was a foster parent for Holston Homes for children. Anna worked at for many years at Montgomery Ward from which she retired. She is preceded in death by her husband Eugene Russell, parents Plentie and Ola Hite; daughter Jennifer Russell Burgner, brothers Sam Hite, Verlin Hite; sister, Doris Shanks. Mrs. Russell leaves behind a son, Mike and wife Carolyn Russell; daughter, Vickie and Roger Chiaravalle; grandchildren, Laura Harper, Michael Dykes, Anthony "Tater" Bryant, Nedra Dykes, Michelle Shaffer, David Bennett, Tanner Burgner, Robin Floyd; sister, Verna May Brookshire; fifteen great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; sister-in-law, Donna Hite; son-in-law, Roger Burgner . The family will receive friends on Tuesday, April 21, 2015 from 5 to 7 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport. A funeral service will follow in the chapel with Rev. Mitch Russell, Rev. Jerry Shaffer, and Rev. Truman Ferguson officiating. Music will be provided by Nathan Salyer. A graveside service will be held 11 am Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Oak Hill Memorial Park with Michael Dykes, Tanner Burgner, Seth Harper, David Bennett, Tater Bryant, Caleb Shaffer, Ryan Shaffer, and Carson Shaffer serving as pallbearers, honorary pallbearers will be great grandson Kane Fields, 4 nephews; Ron Hite,Steve Hite, Chris Shanks, and Chad Shanks. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50 am. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the Villages at Allendale, Amedisys Hospice, and the staff at Holston Valley Medical Center. Carter-Trent Funeral Home downtown, Kingsport is serving the Russell family.
