Annie Ruth Ford, age 90 of Johnson City, TN, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, December 2, 2025. Annie was born on November 16, 1935, in Hawkins County, TN to Avery and Zinnie Logan. Annie worked for many years at the Kingsport Press.
Annie loved her family and spending time with them. She enjoyed watching soap operas and watching sporting events. She especially enjoyed watching tennis and boxing. During high school, Annie played basketball and she always strived to better herself. To finish what she started, she officially received her G.E.D. at the age of 50 years old.
Annie was preceded in death by her parents; son, Wayne Lee Ford; granddaughter-in-law, Sabrina Ford; two brothers, Avery Logan Jr., and Herman Logan; two sisters, Mary Francis Logan, and Jessie Gamble; and her favorite dog, Jake. Those left to cherish her memory are her three sons, Ernest Ford (Marilyn), Robert Ford, and James Ford; two daughters, Charlotte Chopin (Cello), and Pam Ford; two grandsons, Mark Ford, and Logan Ford – Young; great granddaughter, Star Lynn; nephews, Mark Gamble, and Tyler Logan; special niece, Kay Gamble; and several other family and friends.
The family would like to give a special “Thank You” to the staff of Caris Hospice for care and attention.
The family will receive friends at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Kingsport on Saturday, December 6, 2025, from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will follow at 1:00 pm with Rev. Lester D. Lattany officiating. A private family graveside will follow at Liberty Hill Cemetery.
