Barbara Ann Heffner
Sep 18, 1942 — Sep 3, 2026
Babara Ann Heffner went to be with her Lord and Savior on September 3, 2026. She was born on September 18, 1942, to Charlie and Willie Nell Heffner. She graduated from Dobyns-Bennett High School and worked at Holston Valley Community Hospital for several years. She adored her family and would do anything for them as they were her life.
Growing up, Barbara was a tomboy. She loved camping out in tents and target shooting. She never liked playing with baby dolls. She always loved nature and planting flowers and being outdoors. But when she reached her teenage years, she changed completely. She was in beauty contests, loved music, and never got tired of dancing.
Barbar became a born-again Christian at an early age and going to church was a major part of her life.
In Barbara’s words:
There is so much to give others, so much to be done.
With much compassion and heartfelt love.
My prayers reach up to heaven above.
God molds us into a masterpiece with care.
Laughter can be ours and beauty to share.
Such loving, giving friends of mine.
Somehow I knew one day I surely find.
With problems overwhelming, I give to the Lord above
Only through then and only then can He magnify His love.
With praise and thankfulness in my heart.
Lord, open my eyes, help me do my part.
Those left behind to cherish Barbara’s memory include her three children, Bryan Williams (wife Karen, deceased), Janet Sanders (husband Mike), and Weston Williams (wife Leanne); seven grandchildren, Brennan Williams, Kyndal Ossovicki (husband Alex), Daniel Wilder (wife Leann), Matthew Dorsey, Josh Dorsey, Alexis Williams-Johnson, and Kera Williams; three great grandchildren, Linus Wilder, Harper Johnson, and Lucia Dorsey; and sister, Janet Heffner Wells and husband, Jim.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to her special friends, Mary Faye and George Cole, for all their love and care they have shown to Barbara during her illness.
