Bertha Lee Monday

Bertha Lee Monday, 65, of Kingsport, passed away April 11, 2016, at Indian Path Medical Center. Born in Scott County, she was the daughter of the late Robert Harvey and Ella Mae Payne Spears. She loved taking pictures and enjoying activities at Orebank Freewill Baptist Church, but most of all she enjoyed loving on her grandkids. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sister, Wanda Faye Garst and brother, Dennis Ray Spears. Bertha is survived by her loving husband of 25 years, Howard Monday of the home; two daughters, Renee Shelley and husband Travis of Blountville and Lisa Keller of Kingsport; son, Robert Bishop and wife Janette of Kingsport; four grandchildren, Alicia Peters, Dwayne Bishop, Christopher Keller and BriAnna Shelley; three sisters, Betty Houck, Mary J. Combs, Imogene Wynegar and husband Ray; two brothers, James Spears and wife Katrina and David Spears and wife Jeanie. The family will receive friends Thursday, from 5-7:00pm at Orebank Freewill Baptist Church with services immediately following at 7:00pm. Pastor Charlie Wallen will be officiating. A graveside service will be held, Friday, 11am at Glenwood & Shelby Hills Cemetery, Bristol.
