Betsy Maria Kiss

Betsy Maria Kiss, age 54 of Kingsport, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, March 10, 2026. Betsy was born on August 13, 1971, in Kingsport, TN to Jim and Stella Kiss. Betsy worked many years as a registered nurse in which she cared for thousands of patients throughout her career.

Betsy loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a member of Rotherwood Ward, The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She had a servants’ heart, and she cared for all people. The love and devotion that she had for her daughters is unmeasurable. Those who knew Betsy were truly blessed.

Betsy was preceded in death by her father, Jim; her two nephews, Clint and Josh; and dear friend, Jeffrey Reynolds. Those left to cherish her memory are her mother, Stella Ruth Kiss; four daughters, Abigail Williams and husband, Judah, Elizabeth Duncan and husband, Malcolm, Annalea Kiss, and Lily Hart; brother, Randy Kiss and wife, Regina; four sisters, her identical twin sister, Becky Courtney and husband, Matthew, Teri Kiss Williams, Debby Kiss, and Vicki Norris and husband, Aaron; two grandchildren, Mayleigh and E’mauri Duncan; the fathers of her children, Jon Surgener and Michael Hart; and many loving nieces, nephews and other family members.

There will be an entombment service at Oak Hill Memorial Park on Tuesday, March 17, 2026, at 3:00 pm with Bishop Josh Polk officiating. Betsy’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the entombment service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 2:50 pm.
