Billy E Hood

Billy Elmer Hood, 57 of Kingsport entered this life on January 21, 1958 and went home to be with the Lord at 9:15 am on Tuesday, May 12, 2015 surrounded by his family at the James H. Quillen VA Medical Center, Mountain Home, TN. He will never be forgotten. Billy was the loving son of the Late William Elmer and Hazel Della Pearcy Hood. Billy served our country with love and honor in the U.S. Army for 10 years and assisted in Operation Desert Storm in 1991. Remembrance of his return home from the Gulf War was an exciting time for our family. He was a Sergeant and served in many places, but Germany was his favorite. Billy became a born again Christian at Greenvale Baptist Church in 2010. He will be remembered for the love of his family and always loved our family gatherings. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, William Hood (infant), Ronald "Tommy" Hood, James Hood (infant), Delbert "Buster" Hood; sisters-in-law, Sharon Hood, Darlene Hood; brother-in-law, Eddie Dean Billy is survived by his sisters, Sylvia (Bill) Begley, Ida Dean, Pat (Brian) Lucas, all of Kingsport, Alma (Hobart) Adams of Duffield, Londa (Ronald) Bowen, of Hiltons, and Connie (Jack) France of Clinchport; a brother, Robin (Donna) Hood, of Duffield; an aunt, Verna Grizzle; along with many nieces, nephews and cousins, that he dearly loved. Billy was especially close to his faithful friend, Bill Hackney. The family will receive friends from 5 - 6 pm on Friday, May 15, 2015 at Scott County Funeral home, Weber City, VA. A Celebration of life will follow at 6 pm in the funeral home chapel with Evangelist David Hood, and Evangelist Garry Hood. Music will be provided by Ronnie Hood, Sean Hood and Wendy Aistrop.
