Bishop Hagan Webb
April 17, 1932 — June 16, 2026
Kingsport- Bishop Hagan Webb, 94, of Kingsport went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at his home following a lengthy period of declining health. He was born in Rye Cove, VA to the late Rev. Lester H. Webb and Maudie G. Webb. Hagan lived most of his life in the Kingsport area. He was a graduate of Lynn View High School where he participated in basketball. Hagan also attended East Tennessee State University and retired from the Meade Paper Company following 41 years of service.
He began his ministry at West View Church of Jesus Christ where he served as the Assistant Pastor for many years prior to becoming the Pastor after his father’s passing. Hagan served at several churches in the area and was still serving as Assistant Pastor at Apostolic Gospel Church upon his passing. He served as the Presiding Bishop of the Holiness Church of Jesus Christ Organization for 20 years. He dedicated his life to seeing lost souls saved and was known for his meek and kind heart and serving with a selfless ministry. Most of all, he loved the Lord with all his heart.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his first wife, Betty Jo Wolfe Webb; brothers, Ernest F. Webb and Rev. Clarence E. Webb.
Survivors include his loving wife of 22 years, Sandra Kay Robinson Cookenour Webb; son, Rev. Michael Webb and wife Cynthia; daughter, Sharon Hammonds and husband Rev. Wayne; stepdaughter and caregiver, Rhonda Cookenour; grandchildren, Amber Hammonds White and husband Britt, April Hammonds Shoemaker and husband Tim, Rev. Jeff Webb and wife Andria, Sean Webb and wife Sarah; step granddaughter, Rachel Sexton and husband Dwayne; 11 great grandchildren; 1 step great grandson; sister, Mary Helen Webb Kendrick; brothers, Rev. Paul Webb and Rev. Gene Webb; along with a host of friends and extended family.
The family will receive friends from 4 pm to 6 pm on Saturday, June 20, 2026, at Apostolic Gospel Church (1780 Granby Rd. Kingsport, TN). A funeral service will follow with Pastor Greg Street, Rev. Wayne Hammonds, and Rev. Michael Webb officiating.
A graveside service will be conducted at 2 pm on Monday, June 22, 2026, at Oak Hill Memorial Park with his minister friends serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 1:15 pm to go in procession to the cemetery.
