Brenda Sue Anderson

Brenda Sue Anderson, 71, of Church Hill went to be with the Lord on Friday, July 31, 2026, at her home with her family by her side. She was born in Duffield, VA to the late Eugene and Zina Peterson. Brenda worked for Kingsport Press for many years and later worked for Partners until her retirement. She enjoyed spending time with her family and was known for her work ethic. Brenda also enjoyed gardening and cooking meals for her family and friends. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband George "Rudy" Anderson; sisters, Sandra Amos and Nancy Bishop; stepdaughter, Melinda James; niece, Christine Amos.

Survivors include her twin daughters, Jodie (Doug McDavid) and Jamie Anderson (Allen McGlocklin); grandchildren, Victoria Anderson and husband Ben, Sophia Harvey, Jesse Cole, and Katie James; great granddaughter, Jazlynn Harvey; nephew, Brian Amos; along with a host of friends and extended family.

The family will receive friends from 12pm to 1pm on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport.

A graveside service will follow at Holston View Cemetery with Bro. Alex Amos officiating. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to Amedysis Hospice especially Megan Keasling and Ballad Cancer Center for their loving care.
