Carl Edward Barger

Carl Edward Barger Sr, 76, of Hiltons, went to be with the Lord (Saturday February 14, 2015) A native of this area and a brick mason for many years, his work enabled him to travel all over the world. He coached little league and invested himself into the lives of several children over the course of many years. He was a member of Hiltons United Methodist Church. He loved to fish and hunt; but his great love was that of his children and grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clarence and Willie Barger; son, Eddie Barger and his beloved wife, Nancy Barger in 2014. He is survived by two daughters, Carla Spivey and husband Ben and their daughter Tia Spivey, Wendi Glover and her children, Mariah and Baily Glover; nephews, Glenn Heffner and Larry and Nina Heffner and their son, Daniel; sister, Mary Ann Lane and husband, Bobby; brothers, John Barger and wife Bettie and Michael Barger and wife Pam " Moose" ;and several other nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4 till 6pm Tuesday (February 17th, 2015) at Scott County Funeral Home. A service will follow at 6pm with Pastor Mark Kilbourne and Pastor Will Shewey officiating. Personal reflections on behalf of the family will be given by his nephew, Larry Heffner. Music will be provided by Dale and Teresa Jett, Jerry Hensley, Oscar Harris and Tia Spivey (granddaughter). A graveside service will be conducted at 12noon Wednesday ( February 18th, 2015) at Darthula Baptist Church Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Glen Heffner, Robbie Lane, Jeff Barger, Baily Glover, Daniel Heffner, Jeff Faust, Mike Bright, Mark Sampson, Jerry Larkey and Cole Lane. Honorary pallbearers will be Bobby Lane, Joey Salyer, Japeth Bright, Joe Vermillion, Eddie Wilmouth, Payne Jones and Shane Salyers. Those who plan to attend are asked to meet at the funeral home by 11am to follow in procession. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Hiltons UMC building fund P.O.
