Della Mae Doyle

In Loving Memory of Della Mae Rines Doyle May 11, 1936 – July 14, 2026 With hearts that are both broken and grateful, we celebrate the beautiful life and enduring legacy of Della Mae Rines Doyle, who entered the presence of her Savior after ninety years of faithfully serving the Lord, her family, and everyone blessed to know her. Though our hearts ache in her absence, we rejoice knowing that her faith has become sight and that she has heard the words, "Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." (Matthew 25:23) 

Born on May 11, 1936, to the late Willie and Tina Rines, Della lived a life defined not by worldly possessions, but by unwavering faith, sacrificial love, and humble service. She was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Jimmy Doyle Sr.; her parents, Willie and Tina Rines; her brother, Chester Rines; her sister, Helen Harbor; her grandsons, Jesse Perkins and Justin Doyle; and her great-granddaughter, Amiriah Tarter.

Those who knew Della knew that above all else, she loved Jesus Christ. His love radiated from her in every conversation, every embrace, every prayer, and every act of kindness. She never met a stranger and accepted people exactly where they were, offering grace instead of judgment and compassion instead of criticism. Her life was a living testimony that the Gospel is best shared through faithful, everyday living. For many years, Della faithfully taught Sunday School at Bible Way Church, where she planted seeds of God's Word into the hearts of countless children. Many of those children grew into adults carrying with them lessons she lovingly taught. 

She also dedicated years of her life to caring for children through the preschool and after-school program at Kingsport Christian School, where she became a second mother to many. Whether in church, at school, or in her own home, she devoted herself to teaching children about Jesus and showing them His love. Her servant's heart extended into the community through her membership with the Kingsport Life Saving Crew and the Order of the Eastern Star, where she quietly continued serving others with humility and compassion. 

While Della wore many titles throughout her life, none brought her greater joy than being a wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend. She was the quiet strength that held her family together—the glue that united generations through unconditional love, steadfast prayers, and countless unseen sacrifices. She always put others before herself, giving freely without expecting anything in return. 

She is lovingly survived by her son, Jimmy Doyle (Frances); her daughter, Debbie Perkins (Mark); her grandchildren, Danielle Woolwine, Jimmy Doyle III (Erica), Aaron Doyle, Latisha Woods, and Jaime Perkins (Sarah). She also leaves behind her cherished great-grandchildren: Kaleigh Woolwine (Malik Tarter), Makalah Woolwine-Horta (Luis), Abbey Doyle, Benjamin Lewis, Shiann Stevens, Rhianna Woods, Maddie Perkins, Noah Perkins, Max Crowder, Brayden Yarborough, Scarlett Mercurio, and Kingston Doyle; and her treasured great-great-grandchildren: Messiah Tarter, Tiberius Tarter, Jessie, Adrian Horta, and Remy Horta. She is also survived by her loving siblings, Dorothy Henderson (Jack), Frank Rines (Phoebe), Wanda McGhee (Johnny), and Bill Rines (Susan), along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and dear friends whom she loved as family. The family would also like to recognize her lifelong best friend, Pauline Oney, whose friendship was a treasured blessing throughout the years. 

In her final days, Della often shared that she was "ready to go home." She longed for the day she would see Jesus face to face and be reunited with her beloved Jimmy and the family and friends who had gone before her. Those privileged to sit beside her during her final journey found comfort in knowing that Heaven was drawing near. Though her earthly body had grown tired, her spirit remained steadfast, anchored in the hope of eternity. Della's legacy cannot be measured simply by the years she lived, but by the countless lives she touched. It lives on in every child she taught about Jesus, every person she welcomed without judgment, every prayer she faithfully prayed, and every member of her family who continues to walk in the love she demonstrated so faithfully. 

Though our world feels forever changed without her, we rejoice knowing she is now free from pain, clothed in a new and perfect body, walking the streets of glory, and reunited with those she so dearly loved. Until we meet again, her light will continue to shine through every life she touched, and her legacy of faith, love, humility, and service will continue for generations to come. 

The family will receive friends at Bible Way Baptist Church on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. A celebration of Della’s life will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Rick Vannoy officiating. A graveside will follow at 3:00 pm at Bethel Cemetery, located at 5498 Sugar Run Road, Jonesville, VA 24263. Pastor Johnny McGhee will be officiating, and Jimmy Doyle, Aaron Doyle, Jordan Grey, Malik Tarter, Luis Horta, and Travis Bailey will serve as pallbearers; Tony Lapoma and Eric Poore will serve as honorary pallbearers. Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet promptly at 3:00 pm at the cemetery.
