Ellis Roy Ward

Ellis R. Ward, age 88, passed away on Sunday, October 12, 2014. He was a Veteran of the U.S. Army and proudly served in World War II. He was of the Baptist faith. He was preceded in death by his parents, John Ward and Nellie Bishop; brothers, Vester, Clyde, Homer, Ervin, Arbon, William, James Everett and Donald Ward; and sister, Omie Allen. He is survived by his wife and love of heart, Thelma; sisters, Thelma Goad and Neelie Stroupe; children, Jess and John Ward and Rose; step-daughters, Brenda, Debbie, Teresa and Jackie; several nieces and nephews. Military honors and graveside service will be held at 10:00 am on Friday, October 17, 2014 at the Mountain Home Veterans Cemetery in Johnson City. Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport is honored to serve the Ward family.
