Enoch Payne

Kingsport-Enoch Robert Payne, 85 of Kingsport, went to be with the lord on Thursday February 8th, 2018 at The Waters of Johnson City following a long illness. He took extreme pride in his two grandchildren, teaching them to fish, to love nature and just be grateful. He excelled in growing roses, talking politics and outsmarting squirrels. He prided himself in his service in the Korean conflict, living within his means and stopping to smell the roses along the way. He is predeceased by three sisters and a brother. He is survived by his daughter, Melinda Prelutsky; son in law, Steve and two grandchildren, Bryce (20) and Brady (18) of Atlanta, GA; sister, Rosemary Bowery of Kingsport; brother, Ronald (wife Lois) Payne of Chicago, IL; as well as many well-loved nieces, nephews and friends. Friends and family are invited to a military service to be held graveside at 10:45 am Friday, June 8th at Mountain Home National Cemetery in Johnson City. A Celebration of Life will be held following the service. Carter-Trent Funeral Home, downtown Kingsport is serving the Payne family.
