Ethel Marie Edens

Ethel Marie Hurd Edens, 86,went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 25, 2016 in Georgia. Mrs. Edens was born on November 1, 1929 in Duffield, Virginia, the daughter of the late Milum and Georgia Palmer Hurd. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Paul H. Edens and her sister, Ruth Smith. Survivors include her son, David L. Edens & wife Betty of Harlem, GA, a brother, Wiley Hurd and wife, Leona; along with several nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Friday, October 28, 2016 at Scott County Funeral Home, Weber, City, VA. Funeral services will follow in the funeral home chapel at 7 pm with Rev. Fred White and Rev. Todd Jennings, officiating. A graveside service will be held at 1 pm on Saturday, October 29, 2016 at Holston View Cemetery, Weber City, VA. Pallbearers will be Michael Hurd, Arlis Johnson, Larry Winegar, Wayne Hurd, Dennis Smith and Wayne Winegar. Those attending are asked to meet at the cemetery by 12:45 pm. The family respectfully requests that in lieu of floral tributes and food, memorial contributions may be made to the Shriners Hospital for Children, 950 W Faris Road, Greeneville, SC 29605.
