Eva Grace Mallett
Nov 19, 1933 — Dec 30, 2017
Eva Grace Mallett, age 84, of Mt. Carmel, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 30, 2017 at her home with her family gathered around her. She retired from Holston Valley Medical Center and Home Health as a caregiver and greatly enjoyed caring for her patients. Most of all she had been a special caregiver to her parents and husband. She was a member of Doran Addition Free Will Baptist and loved her Lord and Savior. She was especially proud of her grandchildren and loved them dearly. She was a University of Tennessee Volunteers Sports fan and a NASCAR fan. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister, and she will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her husband, John Harley Mallett, Sr.; son, John Harley Mallett, Jr.; mother, Plina Oaks; sisters, Phyllis Rhymer and Geneva Presley; and granddaughter, Amanda Wilder.
She is survived by her daughters, Deborah Smith and Colleen Player; grandchildren, Chris Glass (Nikki), Lauren Dishner (Dustin), Kayla Smith (Joe) and Sara Mersereau (Adam); and 3 great grandsons.
The family would like to thank loving caregiver, Debra Helton and Avalon Hospice staff and RN, Daniel White for their love and support for Eva during her declining health.
The family will receive friends from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm on Tuesday, January 2, 2018 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Church Hill. Funeral services will begin at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Church Hill Memory Gardens.
