Gladys June Kilgore

How do you explain the love of a Mother? How do you put into words a love so strong that can only be surpassed by Gods love. A love that is so deep that it transcends all time and all things. To me explaining it is only to say two words "GLADYS KILGORE". She showed that love to her five angels (that's how she referred to her children) unconditionally always. Her love expanded to all of us, her family and others. Simply put SHE loved more than anything else ,with all of her heart she loved. GLADYS JUNE COMPTON KILGORE, 94 of Kingsport, formally of Scott County, Virginia joined her husband Giles in heaven on Friday, July 22, 2016. She attended Midway High School and graduated from Gordonsville High School in Carthage, Tennessee. Gladys was a devoted Homemaker and dedicated her entire life to her family. Gladys loved "Crafting" and she and Giles traveled many years enjoying their hobby. Gladys was preceded in death by her husband of 73 years ,Giles Kilgore and grandson Jason Kilgore. Survivors include her children James "Jim" Kilgore, Debi ,William "Bill" Kilgore, Brenda Jerry "Pat" Kilgore, Patricia, Ray Kilgore, Patricia and Gay McReynolds, Bob; her grandchildren, Jennifer Stokes, Rick, Jennifer Myers, Rusty, Shane Martin, Kristy Morris, Kelly Cassell, James Kilgore, Hope, Nathan Kilgore, Kim Duncan, Michael McReynolds, Mary; great-grandchildren, Aaron Stokes, Bradyen Stokes, Keighly Martin, Alec Cassell, Brady Cassell, Alex Kilgore, Anisa, Ethan Kilgore, Jacob Smith, Cortney Duncan, Colby Duncan, Tyler McReynolds. The family will receive friends from 5 - 7 pm on Sunday, July 24, 2016, in the chapel of Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City, Virginia . A service will follow with Pastor James Kilgore and Pastor David Peters officiating. Music will be provided by Lighthouse Church. Graveside services will be at 11 am on Monday July 25, 2016 at Holston View Cemetey, Weber City, VA. Pallbearers will be her great grandchildren. The family would like thank Nova Health Care for the Wonderful care they gave Gladys in the last couple years. Carter-Trent / Scott County Funeral Home, Weber City is serving the Kilgore family.
